Large Balls of this weight are very very rare and hard to come by. This is a solid 9ct Yellow gold ball. The outer cage and ball shell being solid 9ct Gold. The interior is solid silver and stunning gilt. This fob dates to around 1900.
The ball is secured by 4 short individual arms. The fob is a rare large sized fob and weighs a huge 18 grams in total, this is a fantastic size for a large early ball. The fob opens to show the Fantastic masonic craft symbols and more importantly Royal Arch symbols all hand engraved on the individual sections. You also get the square and compass indicated in the three separate degrees. It closes securely and stays nice and tight. This particular fob has a just stunning silver gilt interior. Just study the photos they speak volumes.
Perfect size as either a watch fob, pendant or even on a charm bracelet. Fob has been professionally lightly cleaned and polished. This is a Very very nice English fob, you will struggle to EVER find another like this. Heavy standard balls are hard to find.
Not to be confused with modern stamped out mass produced items. Most of the modern reproductions fobs are just nowhere near the same quality as the older examples like this so you know you are getting a nice piece. Earlier balls tend to be superb quality as this example is.
